Which Terminal at Cancun Airport is Your Airline?

Why Does Knowing Your Terminal Matter?
When you land at Cancun International Airport (CUN), one of the first things you'll want to know is which terminal you're arriving at. This isn't just curiosity: knowing your terminal helps you coordinate your transfer better, find your driver faster if you booked private transportation, and navigate without unnecessary detours.
Cancun Airport has four terminals (1, 2, 3, and 4), but Terminal 1 no longer operates regular commercial flights. So in practice, you'll arrive at Terminal 2, 3, or 4, depending on your airline.
Terminal 2: International Airlines
Terminal 2 is primarily used by international airlines, especially from the United States and Canada. If you're flying with any of these, you'll most likely arrive here:
- American Airlines
- United Airlines
- Delta Air Lines
- Southwest Airlines
- JetBlue
- Air Canada
- WestJet
- Frontier Airlines
- Spirit Airlines
This terminal is well-equipped with duty-free shops, restaurants, and ATMs. After clearing immigration, you'll find the arrivals area where your Welcome Shuttle driver will be waiting with a sign displaying your name.
Terminal 3: More International Airlines and Some Domestic
Terminal 3 also primarily receives international flights, but from other airlines, including some European and Latin American carriers:
- Aeroméxico (international flights)
- Avianca
- Copa Airlines
- VivaAerobus (some international flights)
- Volaris (some international flights)
- Air France
- British Airways
- Lufthansa
- KLM
- Edelweiss Air
Terminal 3 is modern and spacious. If you arrive here, the process is similar: you pass through immigration, collect your luggage, and exit to the arrivals area.
Terminal 4: Domestic and International Airlines
Terminal 4 is the newest and primarily handles Mexican domestic flights and some international ones. If you're flying from another Mexican city or with budget airlines, you'll likely arrive here:
- VivaAerobus (domestic flights)
- Volaris (domestic flights)
- Aeroméxico Connect (domestic flights)
- TAR Aerolíneas
- Some international charter flights
This terminal is smaller but equally functional. The advantage is that it usually has less congestion than the others.
How Can You Be Sure of Your Terminal?
While this guide gives you a general idea, airlines can occasionally change terminals. It's best to:
- Check your e-ticket a few days before your trip
- Consult your airline's app
- Verify on the Cancun Airport website
- If you booked with Welcome Shuttle, our team confirms your terminal before your arrival
Are the Terminals Connected?
Yes, but not directly on foot. If you need to change terminals (for example, for a connecting flight), there's a free shuttle service that connects the terminals every 15-20 minutes. The journey takes about 5-10 minutes.
What If I Have Private Transportation?
If you booked your transfer with Welcome Shuttle, you don't need to worry about anything.
