Private vehicle by the hour · 3-hour minimum
A private vehicle with a driver at your disposal by the hour, three-hour minimum. Stop wherever you want, stay as long as you like, one price for the whole day.
Open transportation is the service for the day that doesn't fit into a single route. Instead of buying a trip from A to B, you book the vehicle and driver for a block of time —three hours or twelve— and use it as the day unfolds: a cenote, then lunch in Puerto Morelos, then shopping in Playa del Carmen and back to the hotel. The driver stays with you the whole time and the vehicle is never shared. You set the pace; nobody is waiting to load you into a shuttle.
Three-hour minimum, extendable hour by hour on the same day.
Cenote, lunch, shopping, back to the hotel. No fixed route.
The same vehicle all day, never shared.
From 55 USD per hour
The price depends on the vehicle type and the number of passengers. Get a quote on WhatsApp for your date and block of hours.
Every other service we run is quoted point to point, and that works perfectly when you know where you're going. It stops working the moment your day has four destinations and no fixed order. Open transportation changes the unit: you pay for time with the vehicle instead of kilometers between two addresses, with a three-hour minimum, and within that block the itinerary is yours and you can change it on the go. Decide over lunch that you'd rather see the cenote tomorrow and go to Puerto Morelos instead, and there's nothing to renegotiate on your booking.
A tour sells you one route, one guide and one schedule, and sells the same three things to everyone else on the bus. This sells you a vehicle. There's no group to keep together, no departure time to catch, no forty-minute stop at a place that sells handicrafts. If your family wants to spend three hours at the cenote instead of the time on the itinerary, you spend three hours at the cenote. What it doesn't include is a certified guide narrating the ruins: for Chichén Itzá or Cobá with a proper guide, a private tour is the right product, and we'll tell you that instead of selling you the wrong one.
Send us the date, the pickup point, roughly how many hours you want and how many passengers are coming. Three things move the number: the size of the vehicle, the length of the block, and how far the route goes. A day inside Cancún and a day that runs down to Tulum and back are not the same amount of road. The quote comes back with fuel and parking already included. Tolls are not included in the quote. If the day runs long you can extend by the hour with the same driver, at the rate agreed beforehand.
The difference from everything else on this site fits in one sentence: you're not booking a trip, you're booking time. The vehicle and driver are at your disposal for a block of hours —three minimum— and within that block you decide the stops, their order and how long each one lasts, as you go. You don't have to send a full itinerary in advance or pay for each leg.
What you're really buying is that the vehicle stays. It's the difference between getting out at a cenote and knowing your driver is in the parking lot when you come out, or getting out and being at the mercy of whatever happens to pass by at that hour, in a place where probably nothing does. With luggage, shopping bags, wet towels or sleeping kids, that difference stops being theoretical.
It's especially useful for days that aren't a transfer: visiting two or three cenotes, a ruins route with time to spare, a shopping day across plazas, or a transfer with stops —airport, a meal, then the hotel. The price is quoted based on how many hours and how far you go, and it's locked on WhatsApp before you book, with one fixed rate for the whole block so nobody is counting minutes.
From 55 USD per hour. The price depends on the vehicle type and the number of passengers, and we quote it on WhatsApp.
Three hours. You can extend hour by hour with the same driver, at the rate agreed beforehand.
Within our service area: Cancún, the Riviera Maya and Tulum. For destinations outside the area, we quote on WhatsApp.
No certified guide is included. Your driver is bilingual and knows the route. If you need a certified guide for archaeological sites, we recommend our private tours.
It depends on the vehicle you choose. Each unit lists its capacity on the fleet page.
Send us your itinerary on WhatsApp and we'll send back a firm, all-inclusive price, usually within minutes, in Spanish or English, with no obligation.
